Itinerary
Start in Prague
Show dayCity, land or river? There is much more for the families and kids in Prague! Go and se eone of the most beautifull ZOO of the world. Climb up (or use the funicullar to make it easier) the Petřín hill and the nice old viewing tower (copy of the Eifel tower!), go into the mirror chambre for al the funny faces. See Prague differently from a boat, try the prague wax museum or just také the horse drawn tour of Prague. ities is a part of the tour descriptionm which of them you choose is only up to you.
Today you can either spent more time in Prague or just on the way as it provides a lot of nice playspots and playgrounds. Another option is to také one of the many walks starting from the biketrail. Today is then the only one with a climb.
Shortly after we leave Kralupy we pass two beautifull chateaux – Veltrusy and Nelahozeves. Outside the chateau in Nelahozeves you can visit the birthhouse of Antonin Dvorak – one of the three best known czech music composers (beside Bedrich Smetana and Leos Janacek). He was born as a son of the local butcher. The next and children friendly stop is a mini ZOO in Zelčín – it is designed just for the kids to enjoy it. On the way along the river Vltava you will get to the wine making town of Melnik nesting on a hill above the confluence of Vltava and Elbe. Tle kids can enjoy an icecream on the chateau terace while the parrents try locla wines! From Melnik on you can decide whether to finish to Roudnice by bike or simply také a train to make it easier. All together it will be 55km but totally flat and along the river.
Roudnice nad Labem - Litoměřice
Show dayThis day is no hqrd cycling, moreover it has a lot to offer in terms of sightseeing and most importantly activities. You can spend a day at the swiming pool in Litomerice should the weather permit. For families with older kids there is always the option to visit the Terezín fortress (the nazi concentration camp during WWII) which will definitelly be a deep and touching experience! Tle more active families can add a bit more of biking or just the nice hike up the legendary Rip hill – the key point of the old czech myths and legends! Obviously you can skip the whole biking by taking a train to Litomerice and spend a full day there. Even from there i tis possible to make nice trips into the nearby central masive of stunning yet gentle volcanic cones. All together it will be 55km but totally flat and along the river.
Litoměřice - Děčín
Show dayMost of todays trail goes on the new bike-only track along the river Elbe. Along the way there is again a lot to do in terms of hiking or nice little hidden corners to see. Should the 52 km (no climb) be to much for you, you can finish in Usti nad Labem and také a train from here to the town of Decin where you stay for todays night. Decin again has a lot tooffer – a nice ZOO made more atractive by bers in the sand stone sections. In terms of small side trips you can get to the viewing tower on Decinsky Sneznik, try the adveturous via ferrata right in Deci nor simply enjoy the local chateau throning majestically over the river! e trips into the nearby central masive of stunning yet gentle volcanic cones. All together it will be 55km but totally flat and along the river.
Děčín - Bad Schandau/Krippen area
Show dayThere are many ways how to get to Germany from Decin. You can také a boat for the whole trip, you can bike to Hrensko (14km) and by boat the rest or simply bike all the way to Bad Schandau (20km). In the border town of Hrensko you can gpo for some fabulous hiking in the České Svycarsko NP. All options could by combined . So what this beautifull area offers? Hike to Pravcicka brana – the largest sandstone natural bridge in whole Europe with stunning views of the NP with nicely incorporated restaurant just beside the natuarl bridge! The historical „Gabriela´s way through the sandstone formations. Tle way through the Kamenice river gorge – partly by foot partly by boat like in Venice, just to see the best of both Edmund (Silent) and Wild gorge! You can also choose to spent the night in Hrensko to have more time to explore or on the other hand go for the german part of the NP!
Bad Schandau/Krippen area - Dresden
Show dayAgain you can skip biking by a fascinating boat trip on the Elbe. Should you go for biking there is again a number of nice side trips – the majestic Königstein frotress sometimes called the Saxon Bastilla, the fascinating sandstone area of Bastai – a decately placed bridge high up in the cliffs, ruins of an ancient castle and much more! All the way through the Elbe valley you meet a lot of small chateaux and picturesque towns such as Pirna. To make the trip more fun you can use the ferries to cross the river and back!
Dresden or departure
Show dayWe more than recommend to spend at least one more night in the fascinating Saxony capital! Outside the city itself the area offers much more in terms of biking, hiking or just sightseeing options! Go and explore the Elbe valley with its cosy little towns, numerous chateaux and castles and much more!

Our self-guided tours
Accommodation is one of the most important parts of each trip that strongly influences the final look of it. We make our best to offer you the best possible accommodation in the prefered category. The hotels we offer are either comfortable small hotels or quite guesthouses both in 3* quality, all of it rather small and with personality than big chain. All the tours have accommodation in or near the town/village centres so you can spend the afternoon and evening after biking exploring the town itself or simply enjoy the peace of the place.
